Well, what are your sightseeing interests and preferences?

What time are you leaving the next morning? Are you leaving by plane from Pudong airport, or something else?

Where are you going to be staying?

1 day itnery

I will arrive at shanghai by train at around 8:00am

I stay at seventh heaven hotel. and i will leave shanghai the next morning at around 7:am by train to hangzhou. don%26#39;t have any particular interest, just want to go to must see site, must eat food, night street market for food or shopping.

Check-in hotel, Yuyuan Gardens %26amp; Bazaar, Shanghainese dimsum %26amp; Nanxiang xiaolongbao brunch in original restaurant, Shanghai Museum, 1-hour Whampoa River cruise, the Bund, Nanjing Lu pedestrian street, Wujiang Lu night snacks market, Xintiandi.

Ellyse - You can really do all that in one day? That%26#39;s basically my two-day itinerary - Plus going up in Jin Mao tower and the Bund Tourist tunnel.

Something like:

Day 1 - Yuyuan Garden, Yuyuan market, The Bund, Bund Sightseeing Tunnel; Jinmao Tower

Day 2 - Shanghai Museum

Different strokes for different folks. I assumed OP would be spending only a couple of hours at Shanghai Museum, which%26#39;s what tour groups routinely do.

Oh and drop the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel!

After checking in, head to one of the local small restaurants (good ones in Fuxing lu or Shaanxi lu). Anyway just stop by a small restaurant (takes in 10 people or so) and get some fried dunplings (sheng jian) or so. Now you%26#39;ve at least had the experince of rweal China (and mind you the foo is great and cheap).

If you like to see the more seedy places head to Tonrgen Lu, buy a girl a drink and play dice etc. All for less than 100 rmb. For something more be prepared to pay 300-1000rmb.

Or for married man woth wifes next to them head to the Bund (Waitan) to see the amazing Pudong development zone on the other side of the river. After that just walk along Nanjing lu to see the full viriety of China (first western shopping malls, then small chinese shpos on the side streets).

Anyway, forget the biggest sights, just walk for a few miles and I guarantee you%26#39;ll see more of the modern China than in any official tour. And it%26#39;s safe as well!!

Been there

thanks for the help.

What can i see in shanghai museum ? is%26#39;nt it boring visiting museum ? i heard that shanghai has a large cctv studio. it that right ?

Well, there you go. You didn%26#39;t really provide much information about your own interests, so I went by mine. And then you say that you think visiting museums would be boring -- I didn%26#39;t think so.

CCTV studio? Did you mean the Oriental Pearl TV Tower? I don%26#39;t know what you%26#39;re referring to.

Hi,Niteshad,

I don%26#39;t suggest you to visit Shanghai museum.

Because now it is open free without entrance fees for Shanghai museum, so everyday lots of people visit it earlier and wait in lines(you may wait for one or two hours to go inside).

You only have one day, so pls consider other spots which are miserable.
