Jordan Vs Mongkok

I am bringing my parents in their mid 50s to Hongkong in April. had planned to stay in Mongkokg area but am also open to a 2nd opinion to stay at THE NEST which is near to Jordan MTR. Which is a better area to stay in?Is The Nest walking distance to ladies market?

If it%26#39;s THIS one you are talking about, it%26#39;s NOT near Jordan MTR.

It%26#39;s near Prince Edward MTR which is 3 stations away from Jordan.

The nest is walking distance to ladies market, but not TOO near .... it is 1 station by MTR away. By walking, at least 20 minutes from where the Nest is.

Interesting little place... didn%26#39;t know about it until you mentioned it.

Jordan Vs Mongkok

how tru kate....

hey they have opening rates too (520 HK for single occupancy, 680 for twin beds) ... so we could give hotel benito a rest for now for people looking for reasonable priced accomodation.

however there are no family rooms at the nest.

envy, please do send us a report on the nest

5678, (how true) I was almost getting SICK of reading about Hotel Benito! (HAHA!) No, just kidding.... it%26#39;s great we are having more choices in hotels in HK.

The NEST- I will definitely go and check it out as I am in that area sometimes.... however, the location is defintiely not as great as Hotel Benito. But, they offer discounts for longer staying guests.

Hope someone will give a review soon.

Envy78, how did you know about/find out about this place?

Kate

im sure you can ask to have a look inside the rooms (if it%26#39;s not full occupancy) and give us a review. im particularly curious about the single room... from the photos it looks like a closet room.

also most of their photos have no window view so im sure that rooms will be facing other buildings.

also interested about their so called garden.

yes the location is not as convenient as benito but again for a new hotel (think new sheets, new everything) with introductory rates, we can overlook the location .. for now.

thanks

btw kate

have you heard about the new hotel on the western side called hotel jen near the belchers

http://www.hoteljen.com/reservations

unfortunately i think it%26#39;s not convenient transportation (MTR) wise, and they do not have introductory rates. rates go from 1000 hkd up depends on which view

but if you are in that area.... give us your insights

Hi Kate, as usual I was browsing this forum for reviews and came across a posting that mention about The Nest.:)

Looks like i will stick to Mongkok area as I enjoys the vibrant at Ladies market and of course Mongkok area.

5678, yes, I drove by the other day heading to dinner..... and noticed, something new there. It looks quite nice, and am pretty sure their rooms and lobby are as in photos because the location isn%26#39;t that great. I think it%26#39;s a good location for anyone who wants to stay on the HK island side, and who doesn%26#39;t want to be in the crowded and densed areas. I am pretty sure this new hotel will have its own target clientele.

I think the Hotel Jen was previously Novotel Century Harbourview (same address). QF Holidays are using it as their lead in property. Saw it for the first time in QF advertisements in the weekend papers.

Above post is correct, it%26#39;s the renovated and renamed Novotel Century Harbourview.
