Hi. I am travelling to Asia for a month beginning on November 6 through December 4. I booked a round trip flight going and leaving from Bangkok. I would like to travel counter clokwise from Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China (esp. Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing), Laos, and fly back to BKK. Can anyone give me some helpful ideas. Thanks.
China and SE Asia Itinerary
Decide on one area - Thailand, Cambodia, Laos - or Bangkok and China - or Bangkok and Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam - for your 4 weeks. Otherwise you will be spreading yourself too thin.
There is more than enough to see in each of the countries. If you are rushing around so much, you will be limiting yourself to a day or so in Luang Prabang and Vientiane in Laos, and not seeing anywhere else in the that country. That would be a great pity.
Also think about what you want to do on your holiday: beaches? treks? cities? historical sights? temples? All are possible.
China and SE Asia Itinerary
Thanks for replying. I just wanted to see the Great Wall. Can u suggest an itinerary for BKK, Laos, Vietnam, and Cakbodia, as well as, how many days? Do u think Beijing can fit?
Drumbrake%26#39;s got a good point. What exactly do you want to do on your holiday? There%26#39;s loads to see and do in Thailand. If its city life, go to Bangkok(BKK). If its the mountain tribes, head for Chiang Mai.Beaches, there%26#39;s Phuket, krabi, koh phi phi, koh samui....
Not sure about Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam.
May want to focus your trip on either SEA or HK%26amp;CHina. SOunds like you%26#39;re spreading yourself pretty thin.
Also need to note that there%26#39;s a vast change in temparture when you move from South East asia up to China. By end November, temperature in Beijing is around 0-5 deg celsius and you can expect it to be much colder on the great wall. You%26#39;ll have to lug around warm clothing that you won%26#39;t need while travelling through SEA%26#39;s sweltering heat.
Well, I thought about visiting BKK, Phenom Phenh and Siem Reap (Cambodia), and Saigon, Hoi An, Hanoi (Vietnam) and maybe Laos. I would rather skip Laos and visist either Hong Kong or Beijing. Is this possible.
