Going to Hong Kong in April and planning a day trip to shenzhen for shopping. Can anyone tell me if Hong Kong Dollars are ok to use. I have had conflicting advise on this

I%26#39;d recommend you to use Reminbi (the Chinese currency). In the old days, Shenzhen shops accepted HKD but, nowadays, Reminbi is appreciating but HKD is depreciating (since HKD is pegged with USD). Shops may not be willing to accept HKD anymore.

In addition, be sure to change in HK. Don%26#39;t change in Shenzhen as fake notes are not uncommon in Shenzhen.

because of the lower value of HKD, using it in Shenzhen becomes the last step of obtaining a good bargain :) Agree on the price, then... HKD!
