Disneyland Rides and times

Thankyou everyone who has contributed to this forum and already answered so many Disneyland questions which have been very helpful.

Do the rides at Disneyland operate for the duration that the park is open (eg, 10am to 8pm) or do they close at dark??

Also I have read that you can get to Disneyland an hour early before entry to walk around etc (eg, arrive at 9am and the park opens at 10am). Can anyone confirm this?? Are there only certain areas which are open before the rides start at 10am? I am enthralled with the small detail in Disney parks and would love to spend that time taking photos etc.

The rides are generally open during the whole of the park times, but have a look at the date-specific details before going:

The park entrance usually opens slightly eariler than the published time, and there is a cartoon fountain very good for taking photos outside the park entrance.

Not all the rides operate for the full duration of the opening hours. The railroad stops operating almost two hours before the park closes (to allow for the fireworks display to be set up around the Enchanted Castle). When the park closing time is 7pm the railroad closes at 5-15pm. The Jungle River Cruise starts at 10-30am, Fantasy Gardens open at 10-30am and rafts to Tarzan%26#39;s Treehouse start at 11am. Times vary throughout the year and a ';Times Guide'; detailing times of parades, stage shows, character greeting times and special hours for those attractions which have different opening times to the park for the day of your visit should be given to you when you enter the park but if not you can get them from various kiosks around the park. It%26#39;s essential to get one if you want to make sure you don%26#39;t miss anything you want to see. There two parades at weekends and just one on weekdays.

Can%26#39;t answer your question about the park being open before 10am as I%26#39;ve never been there that early. It tends to get busier from about noon onwards. However unless you%26#39;re going on a Sunday or public holiday you%26#39;re not likely to find the park particularly busy and should have plenty of time do all you want to do.

A new ride ';It%26#39;s a small world'; opens on 27th April. It%26#39;s a boat ride with audio-animatronic dolls representing countries of the world and is apparantly a standard feature at other Disneyland Parks.

we were there in october and the park opened at 10 we where not allowed to go in a hour earlier to look around ,i hope that helps
