Going to Big Buddha, leave bags in airport or hotel?

We will be arriving (for the first time) in HK at around 6 AM and we%26#39;re booked at a hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Do you think it%26#39;s worth leaving our bags in airport for HK$50/piece and go to Big Buddha than to leave them for free at the hotel?

Which do you think will save us more time and effort?

How much time do we allocate for this (transport+actual trip)?

And if you can add how to go to the Big Buddha, that will be great!!!

We have a very limited time in HK, only 2 days... so thanks for you help =)

Since the Buddha is on Lantau Island (same as the airport) it would clearly save a lot of time to leave your bags at the aiport, but at 6am, after an overnight flight wouldn%26#39;t you rather check in %26amp; relax for a bit, than visit the Buddha in the afternoon. I assume the cable car doesn%26#39;t open that early any way. A nicer way to get there is by ferry to Mui Wo %26amp; then bus.

Alternatively, if you have time on your last day, you can check-in at Kowloon Station and then go to Lantau.

Big Buddha opens at about 10 am, it is a little bit early to go there straight from airport. Given you have only 2 days, if you decide to go to Big Buddha from airport, you can go to Tai O village first, and then to the Big Buddha.

From airport, you can either take bus S1 or taxi to Tung Chung. Then take bus 11 to Tai O (takes about 50 minutes), from Tai O take bus 21 to Big Buddha (takes about 20 minutes). When returning, take cable car to Tung Chung (takes about 25 minutes), then bus S1 or taxi to airport. See bus timetables at -
