Need help!

Hi,

In april we go on a cruise. The cruise arrive%26#39;s the last day in Shanghai around 8.00 am at the international cruise pier. From there we have to go to Pudong airport for our flight to Hongkong. Our flight is at 11.30 am. So in total we have 3,5 hours to get off the ship, go to the airport and take our flight to Hongkong. Is there enough time? Because I heard that customs can take some time. If I have to cancel the ticket, it%26#39;s very expensive!

Our suggestion:

1-Pls double check with cruise company the detailed correct time youcan get off the boat since we all know even boat arrive in the pier, it need time.

2-Pls book a taxi or van ( per people/luggage qty you have )in advance through your cruise company or your Shanghai friend or others then when you go out the pier, you can leave for airport immediately instead of waiting.

Overall, if you organize very well, it is OK.

I think you should ask your cruise company. The taxi from the criuse terminal to Pudong airport will take at least one hour at that time of the day, so it%26#39;s a very tight connection. Do you have to clear customs when leaving the ship? If so, I would say it%26#39;s almost an impossible connection. Take out travel insurance.

Difficult! I personally think that I will be exciting but possible to make it on time. I%26#39;am not really aware of the location where these boats are docking but matbe you can ask how much time it will cost you from the dock to the Maglev Train; this train will bring you very fast to Pudong Airport. ( about 10 to 15 minutes ) so this could save you some time.

Besides that I always give a tip to have your suitcases packed neat. When you are checked by customs they don%26#39;t have to crawl trough your whole suitcase but can see what you%26#39;ve got to offer there in a split second.......

Your checkin time would be (at least) 2hrs. before the flight due to recently increased security screening time, so leaving 1.5hrs. to clear customs and get to the airport. It will still take 45mins to get to the maglev station, where you may have to wait 15mins for the next train. Journey time 8mins plus 10 min walk to departures. I stand by my original reply.
