Hi! I had just sent an email to Royal Plaza Hotel (Mongkok)and was very surprised when they replied promptly and was offered a reasonable rate for their Superior Twin Room. We plan to stay there for six nights this August.
Can someone please verify if their Superior Twin Room is the one that has 2 Double Beds and not 2 single beds? I just want to be sure as there will be four of us (me, my husband, mom-in-law %26amp; 13 yr old son)so 2 single beds is definitely a no-no!! Based on their website, a Superior Room can either have a King Bed or Double Double Beds. Does Double Double beds mean 2 double beds?
Upon check-in, will you be asked how many persons will be staying in the room?
I%26#39;ll be eagerly awaiting your responses as I need to confirm my reservation before April 1. Thanks in advance!:D

I would simply write them - they indeed are very prompt. Just be clear that 2 people per bed - and the beds need to be bigger. They will answer you. :)

Thanks, BanaPona! As you%26#39;ve suggested, I sent them an email again and requested for Two double beds. Still waiting for a reply.
Were you able to stay at the Royal Plaza? I%26#39;ve read in previous threads that their double beds are quite comfy and can easily accomodate two people. I just hope that%26#39;s what we%26#39;ll get.
Do they usually ask how many people will be staying the room?
I%26#39;m very excited about this trip, as this will be our first time to travel to Hongkong. Our trip is scheduled for Aug 25-Aug 31 and according to my husband, his advance birthday present for me and my mother-in-law!:D (Our bdays%26#39; on sept). Since we%26#39;ll be staying there for six nights, is there a chance of getting a free room upgrade?
Thanks! :D
one reason I like royal Plaza is because their rooms are good size. They offer a choice of King size bed or TWO double beds in their basic superior rooms.
So, your will be find for the four of you.
What might be nice is their family room. One Kind bed and 1 double bed. for your consideration.
Enjoy your stay.
Thanks for the feedback, Katetam!
As soon as I hear from them, I%26#39;ll try to ask how much their rates are for the Family Room. But if it%26#39;s much more expensive, then the Superior Room with 2 double beds will be perfectly fine for us. :D
I think that upgrades are selective and you won%26#39;t know until the day you check-in.
I think that you should be clear about 4 people staying in the room at the point of reservation. Some hotels have occupancy limits or will charge for extra person(s).
