Best Dim Sum/Noodle house in Shanghai

Excuse me, are you aware that the dimsum that most foreigners are familiar with, are Cantonese in origin? Shanghai isn%26#39;t really the place to be looking for very authentic Cantonese food. Or do you mean to be looking for Shanghainese dimsum?

Also, how many people eating and what price range?

Hi ellyse,

Thanks.. I%26#39;m looking for authentic Shanghai dimsum.. I usually eat what the locals like to eat whenever I visit the place

I%26#39;ve already chosen where to eat.. Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant in Yu Yuan Bazaar.. they have the most popular XioLongBao in Shanghai espcially the crab XioLongBao...

But I heard that the queue is really long...so have to wait long to be seated.

I%26#39;ve never had to wait when I go to Nanxiang. ;) Sorry, ';trade secret';!

Another good place to try would be Lv Bo Lang, just opposite.

I know they have this promo that if you will send 120 RMB or more per person, you won%26#39;t wait anymore.

Don%26#39;t think so. And usually we don%26#39;t spend that much anyway.

ok.. then I%26#39;ll wait...

I plan of walking from the Bund Hotel from Guangdong Road to Yu Yuan..

My officemate from shanghai told me it will only take 20 minutes if I walk fast.

Just found out that the Bund hotel is located in the middle of Nanjing and Yu Yuan..so I guess it is the best hotel in terms of location if you wanna walk to both Nanjing and Yu Yuan on separate occasions.
