Rip this itinerary apart!

I%26#39;m planning a ten-day trip to Hong Kong and Macau sometime in late May or early June. With the help of the latest Lonely Planet guidebook and random information pages here and there, I%26#39;ve constructed a primarily sightseeing itinerary as follows. Hong Kong residents and experts alike, please rip it up and post suggestions as to feasibility, etc.

Numbers represent the day number.

1. Fly into Macau International in the morning via redeye, explore Coloane, Taipa and part of Macau.

2. Explore rest of Macau, catch afternoon ferry to HKIA, follow on to Ngong Ping.

3. Sunrise at Lantau Peak, ferry to Tuen Mun, hike along MacLehose to Tai Mo Shan.

4. Sunrise at Tai Mo Shan, visit Ng Tung Chai waterfall, Kandoorie Farm, hike along MacLehose, then Wilson Trail to either Tai Mei Tuk or Tai Po.

5. Cycle from either location to Sha Tin, view attractions there.

6. Travel to HK Island, onward to the Peak via Central and Soho, and move onto Kennedy Town

7. Head in clockwise direction to Wan Chai / Causeway / etc, explore and ferry back to Kowloon.

8. Shopping, browsing and party?

9. Shopping, browsing and party?

10. HKIA.

2. You can%26#39;t take ferry to HKIA from Macau, these ferries are for passengers flying out of HKIA.

3. The MacLehose section from Tuen Mun to Tai Mo Shan is very boring.

You%26#39;re not giving yourself much time to explore Macau if you%26#39;re intending to get to Ngong Ping on the same day. Last bus to Ngong Ping is 18-10 from Tung Chung and the cable car from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping operates until 18-00. You%26#39;ll need to leave Macau early afternoon and take the First Ferry service to Tsim Sha Tsui or take the TurboJet service to HK Island followed by either MTR or bus to Tung Chung. The only option after the 18-10 bus from Tung Chung is taxi.

8. kowloon (mongkok)

9. kowloon (tsim sha tsui)

looks like you%26#39;re spending much of the time outdoors, there are also lots to see in the city. causeway bay/central is worth 1 day as well.

Since Tin has pointed out that I cannot go to HKIA from Macau unless I intend on flying out, I%26#39;ve modified the first day to go straight to Ngong Ping after flying into HKIA, then moving onto the New Territories the next day. I%26#39;ve relegated Macau to Day 8 and 9, with 10 being bye-bye.

Whoever thought mixing and mashing could be so complicated...
