Discovering Discovery Bay

My friend and I will be crashing at a friend%26#39;s place who lives in Discovery Bay. I%26#39;ve been to HK a couple of times but have not even been to DB or even heard of it. Anyone with information on the area? Like what kinds of food, what to do there. All I know it%26#39;s an island that%26#39;s far away from HK/Kowloon island.

How do we get to HK or Kowloon island from DB? Ferry or bus? and what are the schedules because we%26#39;re planning to stay out late. Would have ask my friend who lives there but she%26#39;s so busy with work.

Anyone with information would be gladly appreciated. Thanks.

Discovering Discovery Bay

Oops...meant to ask how to get to DB from the airport and vice versa too.

Discovering Discovery Bay

There are ferries running 24 hours between DB and Central. A walkway is connecting the pier to the IFC. If you are in the Kowloon side, you can take MTR to the Sunny Bay Station and change to bus.

There is also a bus service between DB and the airport.

Check out this website: http://www.discoverybay.com.hk for schedules.

It%26#39;s a modern private residential mediterranean style development on Lantau very close to Disneyland. It%26#39;s located in scenic surroundings on the coast and set against the backdrop of the hills of the Lantau North Country Park. It has quite a large western expat community many of whom commute into the HK%26#39;s financial district close to the ferry pier on HK Island. It has its own transportation system but private cars are not allowed other than a few essential vehicles which are allowed by permit. Golf buggies are a popular form of transport within the town. It%26#39;s only 30 mins to HK Island by ferries which operate 24 hours. There are also kaido ferry services to Peng Chau, a nearby small island and Mui Wo. There%26#39;s a frequent bus service enabling access to the MTR system at nearby Sunny Bay and there are also frequent bus services to the airport and Tung Chung. There%26#39;s a central plaza with several restaurants, shops and cafe%26#39;s and an artificial beach and there%26#39;s a golf course high up in the hills and several good hiking trails.

There%26#39;s more information on Discovery Bay and Lantau Island here;
