We have only 2 days in Hong Kong pre-cruise. What are the ';must sees'; that we can fit into that time?
2 Days in Hong Kong -- What should we see and do?
These are the things we really enjoyed:
- Star ferry rides between HK island and Kowloon.
- Shopping at Stanley Market and the drive through Repulse Bay to get there.
- Shopping at Ladies Market and Fa Yuen Street.
- Dim sum at Fook Lam Moon on Johnston Rd. in Wanchai district.
2 Days in Hong Kong -- What should we see and do?
Also want to add to above post:
- Tram ride up/down Victoria peak and the walk at the peak.
Is it easy to do all this in just 1-1/2 to 2 full days?
You would probably have to pick and choose from my recommendations. From my suggestions you can probably do this:
DAY 1:
- Go up the peak using the tram first thing in the morning. Go for breakfast at Delifrance at the peak, do your walk, then head down the peak.
- Get to Stanley market by noon. Have lunch at one of the many restaurants. You can shop for hours here.
DAY 2:
- If you are staying on the HK island side, go to Central. Take the escalator up Shelley St. Stop in at SOHO. Lots of pubs and restaurants along the escalator route. Stop in for lunch.
- Go back down to Central. Shop at Li Yuen St. (East/West) markets.
- Take the star ferry from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui.
- Go down Nathan Rd. Head to Ladies Market and Fa Yuen Street. They open at after 10am. You can shop for hours here.
Of course, if you have jet lag, you may not be able to accomplish all. The above, of course, are just my suggestions and gave us a nice tour and insight into HKG market life, street scene, and a bit of culture.
Here%26#39;s my favourite do-it-yourself tour which lets you see a lot and spend very little:

Hi Rob - I just showed my husband your self guided itinery link. We couldn%26#39;t believe the detail and work you put into it. It was amazing. We are only going to be in HK for a 2 night stopover and I have saved your post for when we will be there in August. Thanks in advance.
Hi Jane,
Thanks. Hope it works out well for you.
