Back from Macau!

Hello guys,

We are back from Hong Kong/Macau after a fantastic trip! Enjoyed every bit of it!

Thanks to all on this forum who helped me plan it successfully!!!!

Sneaked in a day trip to Macau from Hong Kong using the Turbojet Ferry. Loved the ruins of St Paul: something I was wanting to see since many years. Liked the overall ';old world charm'; of Macau especially near Largo Senado. Also visited Guia Fort, Monte Fort, A-Ma temple, St Dominics church, Lisboa casino, Na Tcha temple

Had originally thought of doing a short trip to mainland China either through Lo Wu or Zhuhai, but ran out of time: China will be a separate visit for us :-)

Thanks everyone!

Back from Macau!

Here are some tips based on my experience:

1) Immigration lines are longer on the Macau side while entering

2) Its a long walk from dropping point of cable car in Guia Fort to Guia lighthouse

3) Enjoy the egg tarts available in several bakeries, especially near St Paul

4) Also dont forget the almond cookies:-)

5) You need to check in your backpack at the counter if you want to enter any gambling room at Lisboa

6) Taxis are very easy to use, buses are slightly difficult (my lack of ability to speak Cantonese)

7) Point on map to taxi driver and he will take you there

Hope it helps

Back from Macau!

How long it takes for us to cross Macau to Zhuhai ? And from Zhuhai back to Macau. Any indication on the peak and non peak time (best time) for Thur/Friday. Is Saturday a definite no-no...?? TQ

sl2828,

Not sure; we didnt go

sl2828 - it depends from which part of Macau you want to travel to which part of Zhuhai. Non-Chinese nationals have three possible entry points, and although Macau is very small each entrypoint brings you to very different places in ZH.

Hi Oisaan

I%26#39;m talking abt entering Zhuhai from Macau using the Perto Cerco which means walking pass the immigration...

Sl2828 - it depends on time of day. Most traffic is Zhuhai to Macau for the day so if you are going Macau to Zhuhai it shoud be easier. Expect to spend 30 to 45 minutes within the customs/border gate complex (assuming you already have a visa).

Hi Zhuhai2007. Thanks for reply..Yes will be getting the visa 1st b4 travelling...
