Mutton is lamb, basically. And not lamp, as those things are not really edible :) Mutton is meat from a sheep. It is like the distinction between veal and beef.

You can get mongolian hot pot, or Chongqing hot pot.

Some hot pots are spicy, some are mild, and some are one-half each.

There are all-you-can eat hot pot buffets.

There are shared hot pots, and individual hot pots (especially nice for groups with vegetarians).

My favorite place for Mongolian hot pot is a little place on the tea street, Malian dao. It%26#39;s a little, simple place, but the trick is that the mutton is fresh and cut by hand. I don%26#39;t know the address, but you just look for the place selling fresh mutton out front.

Since you cook your hot pot yourself, a good hot pot is determined by the freshness of the ingredients (almost everything in China is very fresh except mutton, which is often frozen), and the quality of the broth and dipping sauce. Almost any restaurant can serve up a decent hot pot!

I don%26#39;t think any of us would eat lamp, whether normally or abnormally. ;)
