We%26#39;ll be travelling to HK from Los Angeles in October for the Gift Fair at the Asia-World Expo. Are there good hotels within walking distance of the exhibition venue? Any recommendations for first-time visitors to HK with just 3 days to enjoy the city? Thanks for your help.
First-time vist to HK Asia-World Expo please help!Asia World Expo is just next to the airport. Not much to do around the area.
Suggest you to stay in hotels in Tsimshatsui. They have free shuttles to take you to the airport express train station. The Expo is only 25 minutes away!
There are lots of restaurants, bars, shops in Tsimshatui. Many of them are opened till late night. As long as you have energies, you will just find time passing too fast! Hong Kong is a city of no sleep!
Have FUN!
By the way, I will make my fierst visit to LA in June for 3 days after my business trip to San Diego. I will not hire a car and just want to walk around and see a bit of the city. Can you advise if Marriott Downtown is convenient?
First-time vist to HK Asia-World Expo please help!I would also suggest staying in town rather than near the Asia World Expo. Firstly, there isn%26#39;t any hotel within walking distance of the expo (at least until the Marriott gets built). Secondly, if you decide to do whatever in town and stay out late, it%26#39;ll be more difficult to get back to the airport area.
A hotel somewhere in Kowloon (Tsimshatsui, Mongkok, etc) near an MTR station would be a good choice. You can take the MTR and transfer to the Airport Express, which will whisk you to the expo. When the show is over for the day, you can head back to town and have fun.
I am also going to the Gift Fair at the World Expo. I will be staying at the Langham Place in Mongkok. When you register for the show there is a note saying that you will get free airport express tickets for all trips to the expo. This will cut down on transportation costs to and from the hotel.
