Guide for Beijing

I just returned from Beijing over the weekend and want to recommend a guide we used on 3/23 and 3/24. Her name is Sophia. I found her through this website and can vouch she is very good. She arranged tickets for us to the Acrobat and Kong Fu shows at the lowest price but for the best seats available. We explored the Great Wall (Mutianyu) where she arranged for a driver, ate at local restaurants, visited various shopping venues where she did the bargaining for us in Chinese (I believe we saved enough to cover her fees), introduced us to her husband, an artist where we enjoyed tea and chatted about my roots since I%26#39;m American born Chinese. Her husband also painted a calligraphy scroll for us to take home commemorating our visit to China. Sophia is a certified guide. This allows her to enter various venues free which you would otherwise have to pay her admission, as well as procure tickets to the various shows. Her English is good as well as her knowledge of Beijing and China. We were very pleased with her service and since we had her on our 1st two days, we felt confident riding the subways and taxis, and the knowledge of where the different shopping areas are. She met us at our hotel each morning punctual and ready to go. Prior to arriving we communicated a bit as to what we wanted to see and do. She organized the days for us to be most efficient. I highly recommend her if you need a guide. Her email is: quding1716@yahoo.com.cn. You can contact her directly for her rates. Be careful when replying to her email as my PC puts little boxes in place of Chinese characters so each time I had to type her email address.

Sounds good. Where do you find recommended guides on this website? I can%26#39;t seem to find the page.

kn1901:

On this page, on the right side, above the original post there is a search box. Type ';Beijing Guides'; then click the blue ';GO'; button.

You%26#39;ll be able to read previously posted guide recommendations.

Thanks. Yeah, I kind of figured that.. I just though there might be some page here that had like a list of certified / recommended guides.. But I%26#39;ll search here, I%26#39;ve seen some names that often show up, so they must be nice:)
