Cable Car queues

How long are the queues/lines for the cable car? And is it really best to book tickets in advance? I%26#39;m deciding whether I have enough time to visit Ngong Ping the morning of my departure (flight leaves at 4:30pm) or whether I should visit the day before just in case I need more time.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Cable Car queues

To be on the safe side, I would suggest visiting Ngong Ping the day before you depart. In addition to the concern on queues, you never know when the cable car will be temporarily suspended due to technical problems or the weather.

Prior to visiting I had also read that the line-ups are long, and sometimes do not operate so it is probably a good idea to visit the day before incase it is not running.

Somebody gave me the advice to go as early as possible, which we did (I think we got there within 1/2 an hour of it opening), and the line was only around 5-10 mins. I didn%26#39;t think there was a need to pre-book.

Great!! Thanks for your help! We%26#39;ll definitely head there the day before we leave...

Correct. Lines are very short. Of more concern for your planning should be the visibility. You should try and do The Peak and Ngong Ping when there is good visibility. In the past week there have been two good days, two average days and three bad days for visibility. If you go on the Ngong Ping on a bad day you will be sorely disappointed. You will understand the visibility-thing more when you arrive in Hong Kong.

Just a warning.
