First Trip to Hong Kong-One day-Staying at Royal Pacific

Hello all,

We will be arriving in Hong Kong on a Sunday night and spending Monday and Monday night in Hong Kong. We will be staying at the Royal Pacific. I know that this is an extremely short amount of time. Trust me, I wish we had longer. Anyway, I am looking for some suggestions. What would you suggest being the best itinerary for one day in Hong Kong. My initial thought was walking up the Peak in the morning and then going to STanley market in the afternoon and doing some walking around. Also any thoughts for a nice dinner. It will be our last night on vacation.

Thanks.

The peak is a classic and really should be done. There%26#39;s no need to go to Stanley unless you want a bus ride which has some quite nice views. There are better markets, both in Kowloon and on the island. You should visit the night market if possible. Walking round is great, couldn%26#39;t suggest anything better for just one day. It%26#39;s the atmosphere.

you can skip stanley on such a short trip.

depending how late you will arive on your 1st night, you may still be able to visit the mongkok night market or the avenue of stars. (both accesible from your hotel)

id start the monday in with a star ferry ride to central for a dimsum, then take the old tram to causeway bay until late afternoon then head to victoria peak around 4 or 5. around 7, head back to tsim sha tsui (area of your hotel) and end the day there since there are lots to see in the area.

I would suggest a dinner in Happy Garden Restaurant but my parents who were there before Holy Week said it is closed for renovation. How about Taiwan Beef Noodle House also along Canton Road, just walking distance from your hotel?

My husband %26amp; I stayed once in Royal Pacific in 2006 and we discovered the seafood dinner buffet at their coffee shop when we were about to leave for home. I looks good, plenty of selections.

One of the highlights sof our trip was one day where everything went right and was wonderful.

Caught bus to Stanley (wonderful trip with amazing views) did some shopping at the market. Totally different things to the others. Then bus to Aberdeen (again nice views) had lunch at JUmbo after a saampan tour of the harbour then bus to Central, change to open top bus to peaak tram terminal, tram up to the peak, tram %26amp; taxi back to admiralty.

Depending on your stamina, you could then catch the ferry back to TST for night market shopping and the light show at 8pm.

Our day was wonderful and we saw a lot of different aspects of HK life.

PM me if you want more details. I have already hahd one traveller thank me for the day, they loved it.
