that i can experience the local lifestyle, very leisure place, and i will start from chengdu, then out to vietnam. i guess i may need local travel service to help , how to find a reliable one via internet by the way.

From Chengdu out to Vientiane, you can travle around Chengdu, Kunming, and Naning, there will be a lot of interest place and different people lifestly at there. In Chengdu, you can visit Panda base, drink tea like local person, enjoy delicious sichuan food; Yunnan you can stay at lijing for 3-5 days; Naning you can sightseeing at Gulin. Then to Vietnan.

thx guys.

i guess maybe i will have to ask a local agency to do some assistance for me , not all but in case i need. i am interested in teahouse in chengdu, where i can get detailed info then ?

and ny suggestion on travel agencies?

As the previous poster said, what are your sightseeing interests and preferences? How long are you spending in China? Your question is so vague and open-ended, how are we supposed to give you any reasonable answer?

I DON%26#39;T think it%26#39;s ESSENTIAL that you get a tour. I always DIY so I have no tour agency suggestions for you.

Frommer%26#39;s and Rough Guide have their own (subjective) top sightseeing picks for China.

Very general answer: Chengdu -- Yuanmou -- Kunming -- Jinghong %26amp; Xishuangbanna area -- Hekou/Lao Cai border crossing
